A special focus is on courses relating to European integration/ Doing business in the EU, both at graduate & undergraduate level.

Frans Somers was involved in the development and lecturing of European economics and business programmes at the Hanze University Groningen and Leiden University (both in the Netherlands) and at universities in Prague, Budapest and Moscow.
He acted also as a programme manager of an MBA in International Business & Management, a joint programme of Anglia Rushkin University (Cambridge, UK) and Hanze University (Groningen, The Netherlands).

  • 2003 –  2005    Programme Manager of the MBA in International Business & Management  (MBA IB&M) programme, a joint degree programme of  APU Cambridge, UK and Hanze University Groningen, The Netherlands.
  • 1998 – 2001    Lecturer elective The European businessman/woman, Hogeschool van Amsterdam
  • 1997 – 2003    Lecturer General & Strategic Management Executive MBA Groningen.
  • 1995 (May)    Associate professor European Studies at the November)  Prague University of Econo­mics (sponsored by the Czech Government).
  • 1994 (April)  Guest lecturer and consultant European Studies at the Buda­pest Universi­ty of Econo­mic Sciences, Hungary (project sponsored by the EU).
  • 1988 – 1998    Hanze University Groningen. Lecturer in various subjects, such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics and European Union Economics at the undergraduate programme of the International Business School of Hanze University.
  • 1973 – 1987   Lecturer in Economics and Politics.
